A physician’s referral is not required to provide treatment however it may be required by your extended health care plan, the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) or your auto insurance company (in case of an automobile accident). It is best to check with your funding source to determine if a Doctor’s referral is required.

Your physiotherapist will complete the necessary paperwork to submit to the WSIB for approval of treatment funding. We will hold any billing until the WSIB responds to our treatment plan.
Our treatment consists of thermotherapy, cryotherapy, electrotherapy in conjunction with rehabilitative exercises to reduce swelling and pain, and to restore function.

There is no specific amount of time that it takes for you to start feeling better. Typically, your rate of healing is dependant on many factors such as age, type of injury, length of time since the injury, initial care, diet and overall health. However, our treatment will help to stimulate your body’s own healing response to heal itself.

Your initial assessment will be one on one with one of our qualified, registered physiotherapists Assessments usually last 60 minutes.

It depends on your diagnosis, the severity of your impairments, your past medical history, etc. You will be re-evaluated on a monthly basis and when you see your doctor, we will provide you with a progress report with our recommendations.

For a shoulder problem, a tank top is a good choice, and for low back problems, wear a loose fitting shirt and pants, again so we can perform a thorough examination.
